About 13 years back Mosaic Communications Corporation introduced the first web browser called Mosaic which was later renamed Netscape Navigator. Soon enough the software giant (Microsoft) introduced Internet Explorer, a free alternative, as a part of the Windows95 package. Internet Explorer's subsequent versions gained popularity and its market share grew from 20% in 1996 to 96% in 2002. Moral of the story, if you have a comparable alternative which is available for FREE, it's not hard for people make a choice.
Now Microsoft is making the same mistake by charing $150 for an office pro package. And just like old times, we have lots of free options that can cater to the needs of 90% of people out there.
Here are a few options that I've explored lately which have proven to be extremely useful, especially for sharing documents with others.
